10 Research Drive Multi-Alarm (Stratford CT) - 7/9/18

Early Monday morning on July 9th 2018, Stratford Firefighters were dispatched to 10 Research Drive at the Soundsphere manufacturing plant around 6:30 for a structure fire. Companies arrived on scene to find a fully involved one story commercial building. Immediate defensive operations with multiple hand lines, deck guns, and two ladder pipes ensued. Since this building contained many polymers and chemicals a full response was requested from the Fairfield County Haz-Mat Team. The fire was brought under control in and hour and a half yet multiple hot spots were fought for the hours to come. An employee stated that he was mixing chemicals for the day and disaster striked. Mutual aid was handled by Bridgeport and Milford.
